Michael Creppy is playing a waiting game as he decides where his future lies.

The Cheshire Phoenix star says has yet to be offered a new deal at the Northgate Arena for next season and is currently weighing up offers from teams in Greece and Qatar.

Creppy, 27, is now back in the USA his home state of Maryland and will take some time away from the game before deciding on his next move.

“It’s too early to say where my future lies at the moment and me and my agent are just in the process of evaluating my options for next season,” said Creppy, who joined head coach John Lavery’s Nix side back in January.

“I haven’t had a formal offer from the club for next season but I have had offers from other countries, including Greece and Qatar.

“The market has just opened now and I’m expecting to get more offers coming through. I’m back in Maryland at the moment and my agent and I are doing our research to make sure I go to the best situation for my career.”

A graduate of Coppin State University, Baltimore, Creppy arrived at the Nix having had spells with Ilysiakos in the Greek Basketball League and Danish side Fog Naestved.

In his 15 games for Lavery’s charges, Creppy, who has also played BBL basketball with the Worcester Wolves, made a game-average 10.6 points and shot a 39.3% field goal average.

He was at the centre of controversy back in March when he was banned just hours before the hotly-anticipated BBL Trophy semi-final second leg encounter at Glasgow Rocks, with the Scottish side lodging an appeal over a clash with their player Gareth Murray weeks previous. Despite initially being ruled to have no case to answer, Creppy was banned for the game following the appeal, with the already depleted Nix going on to suffer a heartbreaking last-four exit.

Despite that, Creppy revealed that, wherever his future lies, he has enjoyed his time in Nix blue.

“The Nix organisation were great and they went above and beyond to accommodate us,” he said.

“The Nix fans were some of the most loyal and spirited fans I've seen in a long time.

“I think the season was a success by our standards. The team drastically overachieved as they weren't expected to accomplish anything due to the rough start to the season. So making the play-offs I feel was a big success for us.”

Meanwhile, last season’s BBL Team of the Year member Victor Moses has not, as reported in Thursday’s Chronicle , signed an agreement to play in the Philippines Summer League as yet. But the 24-year-old has been the subject of interest from other clubs, with Nix chairman Andrew Donaldson stating he did not expect last season’s three-time Molten BBL Player of the Month award winner to be back at the Northgate Arena next season.
