Cheshire Phoenix maintained their 100% record on the road so far this season in the BBL with an impressive 97-89 success at Sheffield Sharks on Friday night.

Jordan Williams put in a superb display to pace all scorers to hit a mammoth 36 points, shooting 63% from the field as the Nix blew the hosts away at the EIS with a devastating fourth-quarter performance.

Veteran skipper David Aliu proved a leader on the court yet again as he sunk 23 points and pulled in seven boards, while Akeem Ellis added further firepower by hitting 20 points to go with his eight rebounds.

The Nix welcomed back point guard Sean McGonagill following a two game absence through injury but were slow out of the traps and trailed 27-15 at the end of the first quarter.

A stronger second-quarter showing saw them claw themselves back into by outscoring the Sharks by eight and a tied third quarter left the game hanging in the balance going into the final stretch.

But Williams proved too hot to handle for the hosts and, aided by some solid defence, John Lavery's Nix side outscored Sheffield by 12 in the final 10 minutes to seal their third win on the road this season to take them to 3-1 for the BBL campaign so far.

American Jerrold Brooks high-scored for the Sharks with 30 points.
