WORCESTER Wolves coach Paul James is preparing his side to face a Jets side that – Sunday aside – have shown signs that on their day they could humble any team in the BBL Championship this month.

The Jets go to Worcester on Saturday evening and James said: “The Jets are a team with a lot of talent that has not fired consistently this season.

“However they have shown in recent weeks that if they get it together they can compete with any team in the league.

“Bill Cole, Adam Brown, Matt Schneck and Colin O’Reilly are all talented players.

“Last time we played them we executed our game plan very well at both ends of the court and hope to do the same this time around.”

Victory is also vital as Guildford Heat, one of the Jets’ play-off rivals, play tomorrow night at MK Lions and also face the Wolves 24 hours after the Jets.

Cheshire Jets head coach John Lavery never takes rival teams lightly and after Sunday’s disappointment against the Eagles he is determined for his team to come out hard from the first minute.

“They have a strong squad this year and are playing good basketball with only five league losses,” said Lavery.

“Their three imports – Richie Gordon, Sherrad Prezzie-Blue and Tommy Freeman – are all having a good year but Carlos Fernadez is the glue player for them.

“Last time we played them down there, we didn’t play well and were down by 20 at one point. We need to make sure we have a good start to the game and play for 40 minutes.”
