Bell back in BBL

FORMER Cheshire Jets stand-out shooting guard and BBL season MVP Jeremy Bell has returned to the UK to sign for Plymouth Raiders.

The six-footer from Arkansas left the Jets last year for pastures new.

But, unable to secure a contract elsewhere, he has accepted an offer for the Raiders to join their squad for the current campaign.

To accommodate him, the Raiders have released Ben Smith.

Bell earned the votes of the BBL head coaches in the MVP stakes last season after averaging 23 points per game, knocking Trey Moore and Drew Sullivan into second and third.

“It was a tough decision to make,” said Raiders coach Gavin Love. “But it’s better to make it now rather than later in the season and bring in a great player like Jeremy who will really enhance the team. I thought we were lacking in a few areas, and Jeremy addresses that.”
