JETS’ under 18s held on after a late Trafford surge to win 59-56 in the North West U18 National League.

With Jets leading throughout, countless missed lay-ups allowed Trafford back in to the game in the fourth quarter but Jets narrowly kept the lead.

On Saturday, Jets U16s rose to a second half challenge in the North West U16 National League against York Vikings to finish 97-47 winners thanks to a strong full court team defence.

Jets U16 girls ended Barrow’s undefeated run to progress to the second round of the Sureshot Cup.

Barrow claimed a three-point lead in the third quarter, but a fourth quarter run of 21 points made the final score 64-49. Top scorer for Jets was Jo Bumby with 21.

In the North West England U14 National League, Jets’ unbeaten run was comprehensively ended by Manchester Magic, 117-63, who inflicted their first league defeat in two seasons. Jets’ top scorer was Adam Jones with 20.

The U13 boys made two games in one day look easy in Hull on Sunday, beginning with a 70-11 win over East Ridings.

Next came Bradford, easily disposed of with a stunning 82-20 victory putting the U13s 22 points clear at the top of the league.

Jets women took on Sefton Stars in the Women’s League and won 57-37. Corrine Stone (24pts) led the team with a solid performance.
