POWERFUL forward Victor Moses’ impressive start to his Phoenix career has delighted head coach John Lavery.

Moses joined the club in mid-October and has already made his presence felt.

The 23-year-old has reached double figures for points and rebounds in each of his three appearances.

Lavery said: “Victor Moses is a real inside presence and he has settled in really well.”

Moses led Georgetown College to their first-ever NAIA Division One title earlier this year and was named player of the season for good measure.

He moved to the Northgate Arena after the Phoenix released Yannick Crowder.

Lavery tipped the American to make an impact but warned it could take time for him to adjust to his new surroundings.

However, Moses has already been named in the BBL Team of the Week on two occasions.

Kentucky-born Moses posted 22 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Surrey United and followed that with 24 points and 17 rebounds against One Health Sheffield Sharks.

Lavery said: “Victor has been a real strong presence for us at both ends of the court so far.

“But we can’t just rely on one player and we need to get the other guys on our roster to that level.”
