Chester & Wirral League

Blacon Thistle continue to set the pace in Chester & Wirral Football League Division One as Scott Broadbent, Danny Davies and in-form Warren Roberts (2) helped them despatch Franklyn’s 4-0.

Marc Moorfield (2) and Liam Davenport kept Newton Athletic in second with a 3-0 win over Cestrian Alex, Joe Ormerod and Adam Hall netted for Elton Athletic in a 2-2 draw with Ashton, Neston Nomads Resers beat Chester Nomads 3rds thanks to Mike Wright and Ben Pearson while Neston Town went down 4-2 at home to FC Blacon, whose goals came from Alfie Cheers, Sam Davies, Leon Jones and Adam Langton.

Birkenhead Town moved to the top of the Premier Division as Mike Parnell and brothers Liam and Ryan Atherton secured a 3-2 win over Whitby Athletic.

Uberlube climbed to fifth with a thrilling 4-3 comeback win at Kelsall. Adam Crimes (2) and Matt Kilgallon had the hosts in command but Andrew Whitton (2), Matty Elson and Allen Jones turned the game on its head. Declan Jarrett, Danny Davies, Steve Creelman and Martin Graves netted as Deva Athletic drew 4-4 with Shaftesbury Youth, who had John McGraa (2), Danny Smith and Ali Major on the mark.

Unbeaten Samba thumped Orange Athletic 9-0 in Division Two with hat-tricks for Ian Johnson and Jon Britton. Niall Evans, James Holroyd and Simon Whelan got the rest.

James Simpson bagged a treble as Clubbies AFC thrashed Hoole Youth 9-1. Jake Johnson (2), Ash Reed, Chris Hulse, David Banks and Adam Ellis completed the rout. Liam Hett, Paul Rambaldi and Dan Chatburn gave MBNA a 3-0 win at Crossway, Alec Hutchinson got a consolation as Hoole Rangers Reserves crashed 5-1 to New Ferry Rangers and Ellesmere Port Spartans beat Elton Rigger 3-2 via Matt Leadham, Nathan Moffatt and Ronnie Murphy.

West Cheshire League

Chester Nomads kept up their promising start in West Cheshire League Division One with a 1-0 win at home to West Kirby & Wasps on Friday night as a Simon Andrews penalty seven minutes from time secured the three points.

Matty Johnson netted for Helsby but the Greens went down 3-1 at leaders Newton, whos goals came from Dom Coddington, Lee Kissock and Jack McDowell.

In Division Three, Kevin Hughes and Jamie Bignall gave Helsby Reserves a 2-1 win at home to Heswall Reserves, Matty Crank’s strike gave Upton AA Reserves a 1-0 win at Capenhurst Villa Reserves and Nomads Reserves drew 4-4 at home to Redgate Rovers Reserves with Dale Harris getting a hat-trick and Matt Jones the other.

On Tuesday night, Nomads Reserves sneaked a 1-0 win at Upton Reserves while Helsby Reserves cemented their position at the top, beating Ellesmere Port Town 2-1.

Cheshire League

Malpas picked up a point in the Cheshire Premier Division with a goalless draw at Poynton. Jamie Ball, Joe Marley and Damien Woods netted as Tarporley Victoria won 3-2 at AFC Macclesfield in the JA Walton Challenge Cup.
