CHILDREN at Venerable Edward Morgan Primary School in Shotton have been making sure they don’t feel left out of the election.

Year 6 pupils presented an assembly to the rest of the school on how the election worked and the process involved in voting.

Class teacher Mary McDonald said: “A pupil represented each of the main parties, including Plaid Cymru and the Green Party, and gave their reasons why each pupil should vote for them, such as ‘vote for me and there will be no school on Fridays’.

“We then had a mock ballot.

“The children responded really well to the assembly.

“We wanted to create an interest in the election so they know what’s going on and pay attention to who wins.”
