A BROXTON woman’s beloved pet has been crowned top dog in a model competition.

Pet accessories firm Mikki announced this year’s Britain’s Next Dog Model as MojoLion, a Leonberger, beating nearly 1,000 competing dogs for the honour through a public vote.

As well as the accolade, MojoLion becomes the face of Mikki advertising for the next year and took part in a free photoshoot with Venture.

MojoLion and his owner Susie Jump paid a visit to Venture’s Chester studio for the shoot.

The two-year-old dog is a registered therapy dog who works with dog-phobic children, as well as being a blood donor who has saved many doggy lives.

With MojoLion’s best friend FozzieBear – Suzy’s other pooch – getting most of the limelight previously, he made sure he made the most of his unique prize.

Anh Nguyen, Mikki brand manager, said: “MojoLion is a gorgeous dog and a great example of an animal that does immense good for dogs across the country as well as children.”

Suzy Jump said: “I’m so pleased MojoLion won the hearts of the judging panel, he’s such a special boy!

“Not only is he a donor for Pet Blood Bank UK, he’s also a registered Pets As Therapy dog most recently working to help children overcome their dog phobias.

“Last year he also helped raise money for The Dogs Trust and Leonberger Welfare.

“It’s normally his big brother FozzieBear who is in the limelight so it’s lovely that Mojo has been given some recognition! Big thanks to everyone involved – I am so proud of my boy!”
