Three people had to be evacuated from their Chester home after their property caught fire in the early hours of this morning (April 1).

Fire crews and one ambulance were called to the house in Weston Grove in Upton at about 4.45am and the occupants were treated for smoke inhalation.

Nobody was seriously hurt and a Cheshire Fire spokesperson said there would be no investigation into the cause of the fire. Crews used specialist appliances to ensure the house was safe.
