‘I’m a Celebrity’ favourite Jorgie Porter has got the backing of her old Chester school as she bids to be crowned Queen of the Jungle 2015.
Hollyoaks star Jorgie, 27, a former student of The Hammond School at Hoole Bank, has already been tipped to win since the ITV show, hosted by Ant and Dec, which began earlier this week.
And her former school, The Hammond, is getting right behind their girl, tweeting: “Good luck to former @TheHammond1 student @misJORGIEPORTER on her journey into @imacelebrity #compulsiveviewing.”
Student Olivia Chan, who is training in dance and musical theatre at The Hammond, joined in with the tweet: “Always backing my girl! #JungleJorgie.”
Jorgie’s natural behaviour in front of camera has endeared her to the British public.
She has already performed a tandem sky dive and had bugs poured on her head in a kiosk raised high above the jungle floor. And she excelled in a Bush Tucker Trial, named ‘Disaster Chef’, alongside aristocrat and authoress Lady Colin Campbell.
The blonde soap star munched her way through ostrich tongue, fish eyes and crocodile penis with both women winning the maximum ten stars meaning 10 meals for camp.
Jorgie, who is originally from Manchester, is no stranger to reality TV after coming second in the 2012 ITV series of Dancing on Ice.
Also in the jungle is former Blue Peter presenter Yvette Fielding, from Sandbach, who has more latterly become known as the host of TV’s Most Haunted and last year filmed at Ye Olde King’s Head in Lower Bridge Street, where spooky knocking noises were heard and a TV was apparently switching itself on and off.
A past favourite from the show was Farndon’s very own ex-royal butler Paul Burrell, 57, who came runner-up to King of the Jungle Joe Pasquale in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2004.
Other celebrities included in this year’s line-up are: Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, ex-Dragons Den judge Duncan Bannatyne, fashion journalist Susannah Constantine, Union J boyband member George Shelley, ex-footballer Kieron Dyer, former boxer Chris Eubank, choreographer Brian Friedman, Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews and The Only Way is Essex star Ferne McCann.
