Chester born 007 star Daniel Craig would rather kill himself than do another James Bond movie.

The actor, whose first home was in Liverpool Road in Chester, stars in upcoming Bond movie Spectre and was rumoured to be starring in another two movies.

But judging by his latest comments it looks far from likely.

In an interview with Time Out, the 47-year-old spoke candidly about the role and its future, saying of the next Bond: "Look, I don't give a f**k. Good luck to them.

He continued: "All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we've left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better."

While talking about the possibility of doing another 007 film, he continued: "Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists.

"No, not at the moment. Not at all. That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."

Craig, who is married to actress Rachel Weisz, went on to say that if he were to decide to go ahead with another Bond movie that 'it would only be for the money'.

Whenever he does choose to hang up the Aston Martin keys, Craig did say that he would have one bit of advice for his successor.

"Don't be s**t," Craig said. "You've got to step up. People do not make movies like this any more. This is really rare now. So don't be s**t."

In August, the Forbes list revealed that starring in the James Bond series had made Craig the UK's highest paid actor having earned £17m last year, ranking him overall joint 15th with Thor star Chris Hemsworth.

Spectre will be his fourth Bond movie following Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, the most commercially successful British picture ever.

However, outside the 007 franchise, Craig has struggled to emulate that success in films such as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Dream House, Cowboys and Aliens and Defiance.

Spectre is released into UK cinemas on October 26.
