Police are appealing for the public's help in tracing a man following an attempted robbery in Great Sutton.

At around 5.40pm on Thursday, January 7, the victim, a 19-year-old man, was walking down the footpath adjacent to St Saviour's School where he was grabbed around the neck by a man.

When the victim turned around, the offender threatened him with what appeared to be a knife and demanded his coat. At this point the victim managed to run away unharmed and called police.

Police say the offender is described as a white man, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9in tall, slim build, aged in his late teens or early twenties and speaks with a local accent. He was wearing a dark hooded coat and something covering his face that could be either a balaclava or scarf.
