This looks like the kind of car that ought to have had something dastardly done to it under its bonnet. But if it has, the people who did it are keeping schtum.

Said people are those at Piecha Design. And they think the Jag F-Type is too weedy.

Their answer was to dump it into the weeds on a new suspension set-up using their own adjustable coil-overs – which manage still to work with the F-Type’s standard-fit electronic shocks. That’s very high tech, which is something you can never say about wheel spacers, but these widen the car’s track enough to make its 21” alloys look a whole lot more butch in the way they fill its arches.

Said arches are shaped into new, beefier front wings which they think draw better on Jaguar’s sporting past. Behind these are bigger side mouldings, and behind everything is a set of 90mm exhaust pipes.

These look good and make a louder noise than the standard jobs, which makes more people look at you and thus see what a cool car you have. They’re shrouded in a new diffuser and sit beneath a spoiler with an additional lip on it.

So your F-Type, which is the kind of car one might reasonably describe as pretty, now looks pretty mean instead. If you liked the original, you might well hate this. But if you like this, what you might well hate is the fact that they’ve not announced a price for the conversion.
