POLICE want parents to learn about the internet so they can be vigilant about their child’s online activities.

This Christmas many children will be given presents which will give them access to the internet; or will be online, uploading, downloading, file sharing, blogging or in chatrooms or on social networking sites.

But where children go, child sex offenders may follow.

Working with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre, Cheshire Police are encouraging parents and carers to register via the www.thinkuknow.co.uk website for monthly updates on how to keep their children safe when using the internet.
