WHITBY High School has been nominated for a Trinity Mirror Cheshire/ScottishPower Your Champions award.

This year the school achieved its best ever set of GCSE exam results, with an 87% pass rate from A*-C.

The school is well known for its community work in Ellesmere Port as well as encouraging and maintaining links with international schools.

Whitby High a Specialist Technology College has a reputation for providing excellent extra curricular activities for its pupils including The Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme

The school celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and and actively maintains an interest in historical events including the Ellesmere Port War Memorial Project which has seen children lay wreaths at Menin Gates, Ypres, Belgium to commemorate soldiers who died in the First and Second World Wars.

Ian Finlay a parent/governor school who nominated the school explained: “The school in it’s 51st year has just enjoyed, yet again, it’s best ever GCSE exam results, 87% 5A*-C,which is the greatest gift we can give our children.”
