AN ELLESMERE PORT Motorcycle champion is this week’s nominee for the Scottish Power/Trinity Mirror Cheshire Community Champions.

Thirty-two-year-old Jenny Tinmouth is the fastest woman in the history of the Isle of Man TT and has been nominated under the Sporting Champion category of the award.

The Ellesmere Port race ace wrote her name into the Guinness World Records last year when making a staggering debut at the famous Isle of Man circuit.

Jenny clocked an average speed of 116.835mph around the mountain course to smash the previous female record set by Maria Costello.

Tinmouth’s performance at last year’s TT was recognised by the TT Supporters Club, which rewarded her with the Susan Jenness Trophy, presented every year in memory of the marshal who lost her life at an event.

Jenny recently powered into the top 10 of the British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park to secure second spot on the podium in the Supersport Cup, a competition which runs within the 600cc class.

Fresh from her success at the Isle of Man TT, Jenny Tinmouth was back in British Supersport Championship action over the weekend claiming fourth place in the Supersport Cup at Mallory Park, and is now third in the standings, just two points behind leader Daniel Kneen.
