PUPILS of Alexandra School celebrated Pancake Day on Tuesday by holding a pancake race.

They flipped pancakes through the car park at Asda's Wrexham store, and the cashiers had a go, too. Everyone was sponsored and all the money raised going to Nightingale House Hospice.

'Everyone had a real laugh,' said Sue Hughes, of Asda. 'It's harder than you think tossing a pancake. And running at the same time really takes some doing! The kids were really good at it though, I think they had been practising.'

The pancakes were made on-site at Asda by staff in the store's restaurant.
