A SINGING duo who appeared on The X Factor this year are the latest to join a team of celebrities risking their lives to help raise funds for sick and disabled children.

Best friends Sophie Houghton, 21, from Ellesmere Port, and Stephanie McMichael, 23, from Liverpool, shot to fame on ITV’s The X Factor as musical pair Poisonous Twin.

Despite getting through to the judges’ houses stage, the band failed to make it through to the live shows.

But the girls are to use their new-found fame to boost The Reality Relief campaign, which helps to provide life-changing support for disabled youngsters.

The scheme is supported by a growing list of celebrities from hit reality TV shows, which has already raised more than £10,000.

Stephanie and Sophie are the latest to join the group of reality stars who will plunge 300ft toward the ground in the UK’s tallest sponsored bungee jump at Tatton Park, on Saturday November 24.

Stephanie said: “When we heard about the Reality Relief bungee challenge we really wanted to take part and help the charity reach more disabled children.

“We’ve never done anything like this before but Reality Relief is a fantastic opportunity to help raise the profile of Caudwell Children, the charity behind the campaign, and their efforts to change the lives of disabled children.”
