WREXHAM FC star Carlos Edwards has been arrested after an alleged bust up with his singer wife Teressa.
Police confirmed they had arrested a 25-year-old man over an allegation of assault on Saturday evening at a house in Hightown, Wrexham. A police spokeswoman said a man had been released on police bail on suspicion of assault pending further inquiries.
Wrexham FC commercial director Bill Wingrove played down the incident, saying it was a matter for Carlos and Teressa to sort out.
But Mr Wingrove said he would be there for the two if they needed any help.
"I have spoken to Teressa and Carlos since, and cannot really comment any further," he said.
Carlos's agent, Mike Berry, declined to comment. The Trinidad and Tobago international is a big favourite with the Racecourse fans.
He was recently named one of Division Two's best 11 players this year.
Teressa recently launched a singing career and sang at the Racecourse at half time to fans' delight.
