A WIRRAL man has died following a car crash on the M56 near Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire police’s motorway unit came across the single-vehicle accident between Junction 14 at Stoak and Junction15 at Hapsford at 10.11pm on Monday.
A police spokesman said: “A black Vauxhall Mavira left the carriageway and breached the boundary fence, landed in a field and overturned.
“It caused the single male occupant to be thrown from the car. Sadly he sustained injuries resulting in his death at the scene.”
The man, believed to be from the Wirral area, has not been formally identified yet.
Witnesses should call police on 0845 4580000, quoting Incident No 945 and Monday’s date.
