Whitby spinning class instructor raises cash for Hospice of the Good Shepherd in marathon three-hour session

A GROUP of regular spinners got in the saddle for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

On Sunday 16 participants ranging in age from their early 20s to their late 60s attended the class at Old Hall Country Club & Spa Chester, Aldford Road, Huntington cycled on the spot for three hours.

They raised about £2,000 for the hospice after the class leader read it was in need of more cash.

Qualified instructor Keith Bradley, 54, from Whitby, Ellesmere Port, trains three classes at the spa every week.

He said: “I read that the hospice was short of money so I thought I’d do something about it.

“I’ve done things for the hospice in the past and I’ve had their raffle tickets every week. It’s a good cause and it’s local as well.

“It’s a wonderful place, they’re very good.”

Keith, who also works at the Nuffield Hospital, got three CDs of music together to keep his class in rhythm and keep morale up, and ended with You’ll Never Walk Alone.

“I’ve been doing spinning for nine years. I used to do it at David Lloyd and got the bug.”
