WALKERS from the Whitby High School have taken on the Wirral Coastal Walk to raise money for charity.

A team of 35 students braved the blazing sunshine to tackle the 15-mile walk along the Wirral Peninsula from Seacombe Ferry Terminal to Thurstaston Country Park.

The sponsored event raised more than £2,000 for the MS Society and Parkinson’s UK – with one pupil’s total reaching an impressive £400.

A number of students also used the walk to complete the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
