West Cheshire College staff member held coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support
A member of the catering staff at West Cheshire College has worked tirelessly to raise more than £810 for Macmillan Cancer Support after losing her mum to the disease nine years ago.
Christine Sharp spent weeks in the build-up to the coffee morning, contacting local businesses to get raffle prizes for the event at the college’s Chester campus.
Christine said: “We received some fantastic prizes including a facial, manicure, supermarket vouchers and even driving lessons.
“My colleagues have been a great support as they’ve spent all week helping me bake cakes and have bought in coffee and orange juice to use during the coffee morning.
“It was a fantastic event and I’m so happy to have raised so much money for such a deserving charity. When I first decided to do this my target to raise 300 so to more than double my goal is amazing.”
