THE University Church Of England Academy leavers celebrated their Year 11 prom at the Craxton Wood Hotel.

Julie Hogarth, pastoral leader for key stage four, said: “We thought the weather was set to spoil this year’s prom as it rained all day, but mother nature was looking out for us as it stopped raining just before the students started to arrive at the hotel.

“Red carpet and fruit punch on arrival got this night off to a great start.

“The students looked absolutely fabulous, the girls were beautiful, the boys all handsome, as they arrived in style in limousines, vintage cars, some top of the range sports cars and a horse and carriage.

“After having their professional photographs taken the students went into the main room and the prom got under way.

“We had some prize giving and crowned a prom king and queen who this year are Warren Evans and Roxanne Leask.

“The prom then got into full swing and staff and students danced the night away to some great tunes.

“The night was a brilliant success and everyone had a great time.”
