CALLING all excitement junkies! The drive of a lifetime beckons - but it's for women only.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is giving women from Halton the chance to turn their motoring dreams into reality with the added bonus of no male back-seat drivers.

The Ladies Driving Challenge gives teams of female drivers the chance to get behind the wheel of tractors, double decker buses and even police pursuit cars to raise cash for charity.

Former Coronation Street star Denise Welch launched the event, which is taking place at the Shell Global Solutions Test Track at Appleton Thorn, Warrington on Saturday and Sunday.

A spokesman for Marie Curie said: 'Police cars, Army vehicles, dumper trucks... we've got it all!

'All we ask you to to do is get your driving challenge sponsored.

'Tell your friends, family and work colleagues now and have a great girls day out with a difference.'

Registration costs £5. For more information and sponsorship packs contact the Marie Curie fundraising office on 0161 255 2805 or e-mail: stongue@mariecurie.org.uk
