Haverfordwest County 5 Airbus UK 1

ANOTHER dismal day on their travels kept Airbus languishing deep in relegation danger after they had kept their hosts at bay for most of the first half.

Without an away win this term, the wingmakers had ensured the game remained scoreless with some determined first-half defending that saw Jack Christopher's header cleared off the line, while keeper Simon Edwards made a couple of timely saves.

Gareth Owen went close with a free-kick at the other end but the floodgates opened once Tim Hicks had made the breakthrough two minutes before the break, when converting Lee Hudgell's left-wing cross from close range.

The lively Hudgell doubled the lead six minutes after the break when firing a low shot past keeper Edwards following a fine run on the right from Hicks.

The chances continued to flow, with Gareth Elliott heading home Chris O'Sullivan's cross from the right while Christopher fired home his side's fourth in the 77th minute after Hudgell had pulled the ball back from the left.

Hudgell then completed the home scoring with his second goal, a rasping 16-yard drive eight minutes from time after substitute Jodie Jenkins had been provider with a left wing sortie.

Airbus gained a last-minute consolation when player boss Owen converted a penalty after substitute James Buckley had been brought down in the box, but it was all too little, too late for the wingmakers.
