HOLT Under Fives Playgroup youngsters toddled along the streets of the village on Tuesday in a sponsored walk to raise much-needed funds for their group.
The playgroup is in financial difficulties and desperately needs the funding to help it stay open.
Grace Lloyd, chairwoman of the newly-appointed Holt Under Fives committee, said: 'Due to a lack of finance, the playgroup leaders were unable to draw salaries for almost four months. If it wasn't for their dedication the playgroup would have closed down a long time ago.
'By organising a sponsored walk we are hoping to raise money as well as providing a fun event for the children.
'It is important that Holt Under Fives continues to operate, as it plays an important role in the first stages of social development with pre-school children and it also gives mums a place to go to make new friends.'
