FLOODLIGHTS had approval at West Cheshire College’s new tennis courts.

The application was put forward at the Regent Street campus.

Borough planners were told there were four tennis courts, each of which would have four floodlights mounted on 10-metre-high columns.

No objections were raised by environmental protection officers.

The new courts would replace others at the rear of properties on Kensington Street which would be replaced by car parking, according to a report.

The lights would be more than 60 metres away from the nearest property and would be fully shielded to prevent light being scattered. They would not appear over-prominent.

Permission was granted subject to hours of 9am to 9pm.
