Tarporley man seriously injured after crashing into tree

Police are keen to speak to witnesses who can offer any information

A Tarporley man suffered serious injuries  after crashing into a tree in Lower Whitley.

Police were called to the scene on the A49  near the Chetwode Arms pub at 11.20am on  Sunday.

A silver Chevrolet Lacette had left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

The 52-year-old driver was taken to Aintree Hospital where his condition is described as serious.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses  who may have seen the collision take place, or who can offer any information that may assist this investigation, to contact PC Pete Taylor, Road Policing Investigation Unit at Chester on 101.
