A Chester Peugeot Dealership has pledged its support for grassroots sport by sponsoring the purchase of t-shirts for a local bowling team.

Swansway Chester provided the royal blue t-shirts for Tower Fields Bowling Club, after the club’s chairman, Ron Antcliff, appealed to the Dealership for help.

The bowling club has been a part of the local community since the early 1920s and some of the original members are still remembered through club trophies in their names.

The club currently has three teams in the Chester & District Bowling League and two in the Chester Over 60's Bowling League.

Andrew Wakelin, dealer principal at Swansway Chester, said: “As a business, we’re strong believers in supporting the local community and that includes grassroots sports teams like Tower Fields Bowling Club.

“Ron is already a valued customer of ours and once we heard about the need for some new kit, we jumped at the chance to help. The club has a special place in the heart of our great city and we hope that by kitting out the teams in the proud club colours, they can play the sport they love in style.”

Ron Antcliff, chairman of Tower Fields Bowling Club, said: “Everyone associated with the club would like to thank the team at Swansway Chester for the fantastic support – this is a major boost for our club.

“It’s important to have the support from local businesses and we hope this is the beginning of a long and successful partnership.”
