A GREAT Sutton pub is reinventing itself as a popular live entertainment venue following a £100,000 investment by Admiral Taverns.

The Bull in Old Chester Road has been given a dramatic refurbishment to showcase its line-up of live bands and tribute acts.

Landlady of four years, May Bowden, said she is delighted with the reaction from her customers and hopes to build on the pub’s initial success.

She explained: “A Blues Brothers tribute act performed to a packed pub on the opening night, which gave customers a taste of what’s to come. Live entertainment has always been a hit with local residents and so we wanted to focus on this following the refurbishment.

“The investment meant we could spruce up the stage area and give the whole pub a sophisticated new look.”

Admiral Taverns has improved the interior of the pub by replacing all flooring, adding new fixtures and fittings and creating a separate bar and games room. The Bull will have live entertainment every Friday and Saturday plus tribute nights every month.

Tom Jones, business development manager for Admiral Taverns, said: “The Bull has a lot of potential and I feel May is making the most of her business by going down the live entertainment route.”
