An adorable pair of sisters that were born in a builders’ yard in Bromborough are desperately seeking their furr-ever homes.

The two tortoiseshell-coloured females were discovered alongside their mum, Shandy, and three other kittens when they were just six weeks old by a worker at the yard and taken to Cats Protection’s South Wirral Branch in Great Sutton.

They were named Mabel and Dora by the branch, which has since found homes for their mum and three siblings and now hope to do the same for the 14-week-old sisters.

Branch co-ordinator Jean Keogh said: “The kittens were nervous and feral when we found them and their mum, Shandy, was very thin.

“Fortunately Mabel and Dora are doing very well in our care and we are hoping to find them separate homes where they can get all the love and care they need.

“Dora is a lively, playful girl and after only a few weeks she has overcome her initial shyness and now loves strokes and cuddles.

“Mabel is a little more nervous but having seen the progress her sister has made we are sure that, given time, she will become as confident as Dora.

“She is a pretty, dainty kitten that loves playing energetic games.

“Quiet homes without young children will be ideal for both Mabel and Dora as they will likely be shy to begin with, but once they get to know you they will become loving, loyal pets.
