A CHARITY football match with an all-star line up is set to take Mid Cheshire by storm at the weekend.
Two thousand tickets have already been sold for a match between firefighters and some of the television's most popular soap stars.
Stars of Channel Four's Hollyoaks and Brookside take on Cheshire Fire Brigade at Winsford's Barton Stadium on Sunday.
Every penny raised at the event will be given to charities to benefit are the Neuromuscular Centre, the Fire Service Benevolent Fund and the Samaritans.
Cheshire Fire Brigade spokesman Evan Morris said: 'Winsford United have been fantastic in allowing us to use their facilities.
'The club is not charging us a penny, which means every single penny we make will go directly to charity.
'We are hoping that people from all over Cheshire will come to watch.
'The stars from Hollyoaks and Brookside are very popular. They also claim to have a fantastic football team.
'I'm sure they have, but our team captain Steve Kinsella, station commander at Runcorn, is very confident. He says they have no chance because the fire service team is very strong.
'So in the nicest possible meaning of the word, it's a bit of a grudge match.
'Either way, it promises to be a good match and a great family event; a lot of fun.'
The stadium gates open at 12.15pm and entrance is £2. There will be lots of side shows and stalls, refreshments and plenty of entertainment for all the family, but fans are advised to get there early in order to avoid disappointment.
