A WOMAN from Rossett was injured in a horrific accident in a lay-by on the A483 on Monday morning.

Diane Jones, 30, was working in her roadside snack bar on the southbound carriageway near the Rossett interchange when a lorry crashed into the van and demolished it.

She was taken by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, where she was treated for a suspected broken arm, cuts and bruises, and burns to her legs and back. The burns were caused when the water boiler overturned during the accident.

It is believed that four vehicles were involved, two of them vans, and two men were also taken to hospital with whiplash injuries and shock.

North Wales Police have begun an investigation into the cause of the accident and are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 01978 290222.
