WREXHAM'S new manager Denis Smith last night made an immediate move into the transfer market to strengthen his injury-decimated squad before Saturday's home match with Queens Park Rangers.
He confirmed last night that 32-year-old Cheltenham Town defender, Keith Hill, has been signed on three months loan and will be joining his new team-mates in training this morning.
Smith had arrived at the club's Colliers Park complex to take his first full day of training yesterday only to discover there were fewer than a dozen senior professionals available.
"I've only got two fit defenders in Steve Roberts and Shaun Holmes so we are running a bit short of players," he said.
"Keith is a steady pro who knows what's necessary. He'll talk and he'll organise and help the young kids along, which is what we want at the moment. When Brian Carey is fit we will have two experienced players who know what they are doing and that might help us to get the full-backs going forward."
