A FABULOUS Sherry by Candlelight evening at Llay British Legion helped raise funds for Nightingale House Hospice.

The special event, held by Diana Evans, attracted more than 250 guests, including the Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor David Griffiths and Stephen Cheshire, the High Sheriff of Clwyd. Each were greeted by a warm smile and a glass of sherry.

The occasion raised £1,810.86 which will help provide specialist palliative care at the hospice.

Entertainment on the night included the Dee and Alyn Singers, Onslow Strings Quartet, soloist Edwina Coward, Amy Tennant and accompanist Caroline Tate-Lovery.
