A VIP was guest of honour at the Ellesmere Port and Neston Conservatives’ annual association dinner at Inglewood Manor Hotel in Ledsham.

More than 50 members, supporters and activists were addressed by Shadow Minister for Health Stephen O’Brien, MP for Eddisbury in Vale Royal.

He gave a report of the recent successful Conservative Party Conference where he chaired a session on dementia and care for the elderly, which had also been addressed by the fantasy author Terry Pratchett.

Mr O'Brien expressed the Tory Party’s concerns at the handling of the financial crisis, explained their proposed policy on university student funding and also outlined future Conservative plans for the NHS, especially maternity care and care of the elderly.

He was thanked for attending by the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Ellesmere Port and Neston, Stuart Penketh.
