Senior citizens luncheon club opens in Ellesmere Port

A LUNCHEON club for senior citizens has been started by youngsters at a youth club in Ellesmere Port.

A LUNCHEON club for senior citizens has been started by youngsters at a youth club in Ellesmere Port.

Mayor of Ellesmere Port Pat Merrick and councillor Nicole Meardon visited The Sutton Way Youth club to see the club get underway.

They were joined at the opening by attendees William and Isabella Cobb, of Gawsworth Road, on Wednesday, April 3.

The youth club, held at Thelwall Road Community Centre, started last year and is now open three evenings a week.

It is run by volunteers led by Roy and Heather Neil and is proving a great success for the children in the area.

The Luncheon Club for senior citizens is hosted by the young people themselves.
