CHESTER’S most modern primary school is inviting parents of  prospective pupils to see the school  in action at an open afternoon.

Chester Blue Coat CE Primary School, on Walpole Street near the  city centre, is hosting the event on Tuesday October 29. Two sessions are being  held, from 1-2pm and from 2-3pm.

Parents interested in registering  their children at the school, in any year group from Reception to Year 6, are invited to come along for a short talk, followed by a tour of the building and landscaped play areas.

The school’s new building was opened in March this year, following the amalgamation of the former Victoria Infant and St Thomas of Canterbury CE Junior schools,  which were then demolished to make way for the sports and play  areas.

Headteacher Vince O’Brien said:  “We welcome all prospective parents  to our open day to see our fantastic facilities and view the school in action."

“We were delighted when Ofsted  rated us as a ‘Good’ school in the spring and are proud of what we can offer pupils and their parents.”
