STAFF at Sainsbury’s in Ellesmere Port will undertake the longest commute to work of their lives.

Six brave men will set off on bicycles cycle from the supermarket’s most northerly branch in Nairn, Inverness, Scotland on April 7, aiming to arrive six days and 485 miles later at the Ellesmere Port store on April 13.

Scott Cooper, Sam Godsell, Carl Truman, Andy Kempster and Nick Newbolt from the Ellesmere Port store and Simon Gee from the Heswall store will ride between 70-90 miles a day to raise much-needed funds for The Alzheimers Society and the Brain Tumour Trust , chosen by the riders as people close to them have been affected by both illnesses.

Scott said: “We chose to do this bike ride as it was something none of us have ever done before and it will be a great challenge for the six of us to complete while raising money for these two very worthwhile charities.”

The riders are hoping to raise at least £3,000 for the charities.
