MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Wrexham Erddig have celebrated the club's 30th birthday at a dinner at Wrexham Memorial Hall.

Guests included representatives of Lions International, Round Table, 41 Club, Probus and other Rotary Clubs.

They were welcomed by president, Colin Rowlands. The guest speaker was Bill Pirie, a retired police chief superintendent from Essex. The master of ceremonies was Judge Roger Dutton. The club, one of three in Wrexham, meets weekly at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and has 47 members.

It was formed in 1978 and is part of a worldwide organisation of community volunteers whose aim is to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace.
