A MAN was threatened with a hypodermic needle by a teenager who tried to rob him.
The 22-year-old had visited the cash point at Barclays Bank on St Werbergh Street, Chester at 5.40pm on Sunday.
He then walked along Northgate Street and stopped briefly in a passageway leading to the Commercial Hotel.
A teenager then approached him and the victim noticed he was holding a hypodermic needle. The teenager demanded money and threatened the victim with the syringe.
The victim refused and escaped by running away. He was unhurt, but shocked.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
The offender is described as aged 16-17 and 5ft 9-10in tall, with collar-length dark hair.
He was wearing dark trousers and a baggy black top.
The victim was wearing black trousers, a grey sweatshirt and white shirt.
