PLANS to regenerate Northwich town centre continued with the start of 10-week programme to demolish buildings on Baron’s Quay.

The old Moore and Brock warehouse will be torn down to allow key developments of the riverside site to begin.

Baron’s Quay has been identified as the possible location for the Cultural Centre.

Lead councillor for regeneration Arthur Wood confirmed that every part of the old building will now be recycled.

He said: “It’s not only the bricks that will be reused. All hard standing, from concrete and masonry to the site’s roads, will be crushed on site and used again.”

Some of the buildings date back to 1834. They had recently been used as the contractor’s headquarters for the now-completed project to fill Northwich’s salt mines.
