NEWLY-APPOINTED boss Denis Smith has ruled out a raid on his former club Oxford United for their out-of-favour defender Paul Powell.

Powell is believed to be one of three senior players that Oxford boss Mark Wright would like to sell or offload.

Having started the season at left wing-back after scoring in their preseason friendly against Crystal Palace, he has failed to make The U's starting line-up in the last 12 games.

Smith was a firm admirer of Powell, but doesn't believe he can bring him to North Wales.

"The problem is, I've got no money here," he admitted. "I've got to wheel and deal to bring players in on a shoe-string budget.

Craig Faulconbridge's future at the Racecourse rests in the hands of new boss Smith.

Faulconbridge has been Oldham's prime target for some time, and boss Andy Ritchie has had two official bids for the player rejected by the Welsh club.

Wrexham's match with Swindon, due to take place on Saturday at The County Ground, has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 27.

Wrexham Reserves went down 7-4 to Preston North End on Monday.

Hector Sam was in red-hot form as he grabbed a hat-trick, with Andy Morrell adding another, but the side were hammered by a much-determined Preston side.

Fans will be able to proudly show their Red Dragons allegiance now this season's home shirts have finally arrived at the club shop.

There had been a two-month delay due to commercial manager Christian Smith quitting, but now the kit has been delivered and is available for purchase.
