A GROUP of regulars gave their drinking arms a rest and biked it from Liverpool to Chester to raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Encouraged by their success, they then decided to plan a cycling event and invite others to get involved in cycling while raising funds for local cancer charities.

The big hearted group are from The Sea Horse Pub on Hope Farm Road, Great Sutton.

“Most people are affected by cancer sometime in their lives, whether through friends, relatives or themselves.

“We hope we can raise awareness of the support available and also raise some money for the Hospice of The Good Shepherd and Clatterbridge Hospital,” said Harry Boulton, who has planned the route.

The cycle ride will start at the pub at 11am on Sunday.

The route is a 10 mile circular and is mostly cycle paths and quiet lanes, so very family friendly.

On return to The Sea Horse, there will be fun cycling activities, bike checks from Big Bill’s Bikes and a barbecue in the new pub garden.

Sea Horse landlord Chris Littler said: “Cycling is a great way to get and stay fit as well as get together with friends.

“We hope as many people will join in and raise as much money as possible for these local worthy causes.”
