WITH the Christmas holiday period looming large, Welsh Premier clubs are hoping to attract more spectators to their games over the festive spell.
And they have come up with a number of special offers to tempt families and youngsters.
Matches on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day will offer £20 family tickets for two adults and up to two children under 16.
This will effectively mean that the kids get in for free.
And “Kids for a quid” tickets will also be available for youngsters who are unaccompanied by a paying adult.
The promotion is part of a drive to attract more women and children to the Welsh Premier, says league secretary John Deakin.
“Concern has been expressed about the predominance of male supporters at our games compared with those in other competitions,” he said.
“In the Football League 20% of their supporter base is female but ours is significantly less than that.”
He added: “What we’re keen to do over Christmas and New Year is get women and children to join the male members of the family at fixtures so that they can enjoy the match-day experience.”
