ELLESMERE Port band Amsterdam’s latest album, Arm in Arm, has been voted the 14th best ever to come out of Merseyside by Liverpool.com readers.

The group finished higher in the top 50 poll than acts such as Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Cast and The Zutons.

Lead singer Ian Prowse’s previous band, Pele, came 27th in the poll with debut album, Fireworks, released in 1991.

The number one voted album was The La’s (The La’s) which beat Revolver (The Beatles) and Ocean Rain (Echo & The Bunnymen) respectively.
