Husband and wife team Lee and Katie Ellams have taken over the franchise of established cleaning company, Poppies of Chester Ltd.
Katie said: “Although Poppies is known throughout Chester and the surrounding area, we’ve made some changes with a view to strengthening the brand.
“Our staff have smart, new uniforms and kit bags to reflect the professionalism and pride in our work. And we’ve added extra services making Poppies a one-stop for all domestic needs.”
Lee and Katie are keen to move their business forward to meet demands for a range of household chores from ironing to builder cleans or end of tenancy work.
Lee added: “We feel we’re taking an innovative approach and partnering with other local specialists in cleaning ovens, windows, and carpets.
“Our clients are varied and include commercial contracts, holiday lets and of course a large number of elderly people who really value regular visits from Poppies staff they know and trust.”
Lee and Katie have already created four additional local jobs, bringing Poppies staff to a total of 27.
The duo are no strangers to business, having previously run their own tea shop in the Lake District.
Lee said: “We returned to our home town of Chester to be closer to family. We’ve both worked in varied careers and see Poppies as a perfect vehicle in which to use our business and organisational skills. ”
