POP sensation Alexandra Burke will lead a line up of X Factor stars to McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks.

The Ellesmere Port Designer Outlet is once again launching the festive season in style this year, with the chart-topping star who won X Factor in 2008.

Alexandra Burke will join a whole host of other music acts, including up-and-coming boy band Eli Prime, Liverpool singer Chelsea Grimes and a variety of stars from this year’s X-Factor in lighting Britain’s biggest Christmas tree from 5-8pm on Friday, November 11.

At more than 90ft tall, the tree boasts 80,000 baubles and 100,000 lights, making it the biggest tree-lighting event in the country.

Last year’s event attracted more than 15,000 people as chart-topping boy band The Wanted pushed the button.

The tree lighting has been a must-go event in the North West for the past three years, with previous performers including Shayne Ward, The Saturdays, Eliza Doolittle and Basshunter.

Mark Schofield, deputy centre manager at McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks, said: “Not only are we the biggest designer outlet in the UK, we’re also home to the country’s biggest Christmas tree and lighting it is always a very proud moment.”

“We’re extremely excited to welcome Alexandra Burke to headline the tree lighting in 2011, and it promises to be once again, a spectacular event to set the festive season off with a bang.”

As well as chart-topping performances, visitors to this year’s event will be treated to promotions, prizes and a fireworks extravaganza.
